Donnie Trump Jr., the ex-president’s oldest son, erstwhile big game hunter, and one of the dumbest people on the planet, had this to say about the Texas power grid failure:
Here’s the problem: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott happens to be a Republican. And while there’s incompetence galore behind this fiasco, it’s questionable whether Abbott had much, if anything, to do with it. Read story here.
While I am sure Govenor Abbott has all three commissioners of the Public Utility Commission of Texas on speed dial and that there may have been some rather hot calls to the Commissioners, Cruz and Abbott have little they can do to make the power come back on.
I am puzzled by the pipes freezing in a nuclear power plant. Maybe the intake pipes of whatever river the water cooling the water that actually generates the power.
Not that there as or is a big power outage in Oregon since the last big snow/ice storm that hit Portland.
The power failure was a result of how Texas manages its grid and the deregulation policies that discouraged the utilities from spending money to winterize their facilities. Read about that here and here. Given those policies, if a severe freeze occurred, a grid failure was baked in. Yes, their hands were tied when it happened, but Texas needs to change how it does things to prevent it from happening again, and that’s their job. Meanwhile, Ted Cruz has volunteered to be the scapegoat.
Don trump jr is a talented heir of his father in the blame game.
If you cannot govern, or reach solutions just politicize the problem and blame AOC and/or the other party.
Blaming never solves anything though, does it?
