The Texas electrical grid failed because they didn’t winterize it. They didn’t spend anything on snowplows, either (photo below; story here). And a few years ago, when the state was being consumed by wildfires, the Republican governor had to beg President Obama for federal disaster assistance because they had cut their state firefighting budget by 75% (story here). But hey, taxes are low there. Just don’t expect any public services, or anything to work.
