Many things changed for the better on January 20, 2021. Here’s one of them:
“The new leadership at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or CFPB, has pledged to … resume targeting payday loan scams that trap troops in endless cycles of debt,” Military.com reports. “The watchdog agency be reversing policies of the [Trump] administration that weakened enforcement and supervision of business practices and eased oversight of the payday loan industry.”
Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI), who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, called the policy change “great news for our troops and their families.”
