A Capitol invader who possibly stole a laptop computer from Nancy Pelosi’s office intending to sell it to Russian intelligence services has been caught, the U.K-based tabloid Daily Mail reported on Monday, January 18, 2021. Read story here.
Riley June Williams, 22, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (photo), had attempted to flee before being arrested. She was initially charged with “entering a restricted building, violent entry, and disorderly conduct for rioting inside the Capitol on January 6,” the Daily Mail said.
Pelosi’s chief of staff tweeted that a laptop used for presentations was taken from a conference room.
A “former romantic partner” apparently squealed on Williams. He told FBI investigators he saw a video of Williams “taking a laptop computer or hard drive from Speaker Pelosi’s office,” and she planned to sell it to the Russians.
If these allegations are true, if she’s not a spy, it’s not for lack of trying. She could be in a ton of trouble if the laptop contained classified information. If she’s lucky, the FBI counterintelligence branch may conclude she’s too stupid to be a spy, the information in the laptop wasn’t worth anything, and hand her over to D.C. police as a rioter and thief.
