There’s been a rash of selfie deaths in recent years as amateur risk-takers compete for attention on social media (see incomplete list here).
It’s one thing for professional stunt people and participants in hazardous sports to undertake calculated risks with proper training, equipment, and experience.
It’s altogether different for unprepared people to take unthinking risks for a bit of attention.
