The question is important, because if he does, then isn’t he conciously trying to overthrow our system of government? Michael D’Antonio, a Pulitzer Prize-winning CNN journalist and a Trump biographer, writes,
“Does he really believe what he says? … he tells his followers, ‘We’re winning!’ even as one court after another, in state after state, tosses out his frantic attempts to upend the election …. It’s all very crazy … the President’s claims about the outcome of the 2020 election seem more … intended to inspire the faithful to cheer and donate money than a matter of genuine belief.
” … Trump knows he lost the election. CNN reported weeks ago that he has said so himself. However, by furiously insisting he was cheated and filing lawsuits across the country, he has been able to … raise scads of money …. Of the more than $200 million raised …, only a reported $8.8 million has been spent on the lawsuits …. The rest may be put into a so-called leadership political action committee, which can fund all sorts of activities Trump might enjoy after leaving the White House.
Actually it does not matter. He has not overthrown a thing. He is President and will remain so until at minimum January 20th. He has not arrested his opponents and thrown into dark dungeons. The election was dirty. It is likely Democratic governors acted in concert and brought about conditions not favorable to his reelection and he nearly won. In all respects looking at his numbers and other first term Presidents he should have won reelection. He will remain on the sidelines able to run again in 2024 unless Biden once in office does more than be a place holder President.
If Trump should actually veto the defense Authorization bill that would be a good thing. He should make it clear to Nancy Pelosi she had her chance at a stimulus bill before the election and any before him will be vetoed. A least that would put the thing to bed.
The amount of money spent this year by th Democrats on the White House and many down races is sickening. And they also re going after donations for the inaugural;. Most of from corporate and rich people…or perhaps our actual rulers and elite the Biden administration must please and pet. And the Democrats are not hesitating from filling the coffers themselves.
Perhaps we should all look at all this cold hard cash and money in politics and suggest money is not speech it is merely money and can and should be contained and controlled and elections and electioneering be more fair with all candidates getting to be on stage even the silly parties so we can see all the choices. Perhaps a silly one will prove to be better than the choice out supposed majority made. A debate with a little guy with ears nd charts might have been fun. Certainly a man who as saved man lives wit seatbelts deserves to be on the stage. Or is money one of the primary was the two parties keep this a two party system and the beneficiaries keep the system that serves them rather than we the people.
You may like your politics silly, and enjoy posting silly comments, but I’m inclined to take the running of our country more seriously than you do. We didn’t really need a quarter million dead from Covid-19; that could have been avoided with better management at the top. As for removing money from politics, Republicans might not like that. If you want more parties and candidates, read up on Lee Drutman’s proposal for ranked-choice voting. He has a book out on the subject. This is basically a Libertarian idea.
Why lie about voting republican?
Are some Republicans ashamed of admitting they vote Republican? They register as Independents and vote a straight Republican ticket.
Why deceive yourselves? The rhetoric doesn’t fool any of us.
Witnessed this in polling. Amusing.
Republicans deny and lie about everything including that they are “independent” 🙂
The Republicans dirty attempt with voter suppression to thwart all legal Americans from voting.
1. Republican lawmakers against expanded voting access followed.
2. In Wisconsin thousands of residents wearing masks waited in line for hours to vote — the photos ricocheted around the country. Weeks later, more than 50 people who had worked at the polls or went out to vote reported testing positive for the coronavirus.
3.Republican Texas leaders sued Harris County, the largest county in its state, to stop officials from sending all registered voters absentee ballots
4. At two separate events in North Carolina in early September, Trump encouraged the very sort of voter fraud that he was also railing against. He said people should try to vote twice (which is a federal crime), first by absentee ballot and then in person on Election Day, framing it as a way to test the security of the election process. He also repeated this on Facebook and Twitter.
Dirty Republican hands in the 2020 election.
It’s more than dirty politics. These people are threatening to tear our country apart if they don’t get their way. (They would regret that.) Plus, they believe things that aren’t true (how do you deal with that)? On one level, its very childish, and the proper response is to tell them to grow up. But they’re obviously not going to do that, so at some point we’ll just have to turn our backs to them, and forget about negotiation and compromise; but under no circumstances should we give in to bullying. Either they’re going to be part of this country or they’re not; that’s up to them.
