Jon Voight, who earned his acting chops by playing unsavory characters, is infatuated with a real-life one: Donald Trump. Watch his rant in the video below. Of course, his diatribe can’t go without reply:
“Let me warn you all that we are in great danger if we fall under a Biden administration.”
There’s no if; Biden won, and there will be a Biden administration.
“Our state, California, is being ruled by a leftist mob.”
No, California is democratically governed by an elected governor and legislature.
“Gov. Newsom is taking away our freedom – your freedom.”
No, Covid-19 impinged on our freedom. Masks and social distancing are necessary to contain its spread. Defying reasonable health rules is reckless and irresponsible. Is a cop who pulls you over for speeding taking away your freedom, or enforcing laws intended to protect others from your recklessness? The same logic applies to Covid-19 restrictions.
“He … has destroyed many lives of people who depended on their businesses.”
No, Covid-19 destroyed those businesses. Newsom is trying to save lives — maybe including Voight’s. Newsom, like many other public officials, has had to make tough decisions because of Covid-19. Making those decisions based on the best available advice was the responsible thing to do.
“I ask all to fight this battle now, to get them out.”
That chance will come on November 2, 2022, if he runs for re-election.
“Let the truth show itself that President Trump is the only man that can save this nation.”
He’s got 53 more days as President, and then he’ll have to do that as a civilian.
Voight referred to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as Gov. Newsom’s “relative.” He’s apparently referring to the fact that Newsom’s aunt was married to Pelosi’s brother-in-law for a time. Voight, like most people, has relatives; but unlike most fathers, his kids want nothing to do with him. Can’t imagine why.
