Thomas S. Connery was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father was a factory worker and truck driver; his mother, a cleaning woman. Thomas worked as a milkman, lifeguard, labourer, artist’s model for an art college, and coffin polisher. He also served in the Royal Navy for 3 years and, eventually, stumbled into yet another career in the movies. It is the latter for which he will be chiefly remembered. Nobody remembers the coffins he polished.
