Fever, body aches, fatigue, chills, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, nausea, runny nose, headaches and nasal congestion. Not like a mild cold.
Moreover, symptoms can persist for months and some victims experience long-term health effects, “often needing multiple medications, inhalers, oxygen and physical therapy to regain strength” for simple things like walking.
Here’s how the medical profession classifies different levels of Covid-19 severity:
- Mild: Positive test, fever, cough, maybe pneumonia but not requiring oxygen.
- Severe: Needing oxygen or a ventilator.
- Critical: Respiratory and/or multi-organ failure.
- Dead: Um, dead. As in no pulse, respiration, eyes glassy and rolled back, unresponsive. Cold, stone, dead.
