Cat. 4 Laura hits SW Louisiana

Hurricane Laura rapidly intensified before making landfall in southwestern Louisiana “as a ferocious Category 4 monster with 150 mph winds” during the night, “swamping a low-lying coast with ocean water that forecasters said could be 20 feet deep and unsurvivable. Potentially catastrophic impacts will continue,” the forecasters said. The storm struck 30 miles east of the Texas border near the town of Cameron. Read story here. In the video below, Laura knocks over an RV in Lake Charles, LA. Following the storm, numerous videos of the damage Laura left behind are available on YouTube (no need to post them here; simply search for “Drone video of Hurricane Laura damage” or words to that effect).
