You’d be astounded how much traffic FAKE NEWS gets on the internet. Well over a quarter million people have clicked on our “1981 High School Football Team Photo Leaves Little Doubt that Michelle Obama Was Born Michael Robinson SATIRE piece. Can you believe that??!! I wonder how many hits this SATIRE piece will get? Probably a flood of them. I’m beginning to understand why QAnon and Infowars do so well. (Heck no, I’m not going to link you to them.)
I guess people will believe what they want to be true, even if it isn’t, and despite overwhelming evidence. But it’s getting totally out of hand, today lots of people believe total silly nonsense, and I don’t know if our democracy can survive this. The first thing Hitler did after seizing power was destroy truth. He hired Goebbels for the job. But remember what happened to the Fuhrer’s country and followers? And Goebbels and his family? Liars are not your friends. If someone lies to you, they’re trying to take advantage of you. Try to think of someone who lies all the time (whoever comes to mind). Would you trust him? Would you buy a used car from him? Would you vote for him?
