Isabella Thallas, 21, and her boyfriend, Darian Simon, were shot while walking his dog in a Denver neighborhood on Thursday (June 11, 2020).
A Denver TV station reported the shooting occurred “after a man yelled at Simon for commanding the dog ‘to poop.'” The man, identified by police as Michael Close, 36, yelled at the couple and then opened fire from inside a ground-floor apartment.
Thallas died and Simon is hospitalized with gunshot wounds but expected to recover. Close was arrested after fleeing the scene and is being held without bond on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
