Hopefully the party has learned its lesson. There is a huge difference between fighting for the rights of women, gays, minorities, and immigrants versus alienating people because they are white, male, Jewish, coal miners, wealthy or belong to other supposedly privileged classes.
A great example of the need not to choose sides is the current fight over the Women’s March.
The Woman’s March on Washington was one of the most inspiring events in American history… easily rivaling Dr. King’s March on Washington. Now that Woman’s March, 2020 version, is threatened by a conflict over the Palestinian cause. Sadly many of the female activists are also affiliated with BDS or unwilling to criticize the anti-Semitism of Lewis Farrakhan. As a result, the Democratic National Committee as well as prominent female presidential candidates are now boycotting the Woman’s March. The boycott is joined by the Southern Poverty Law Center, EMILY’s List, NARAL Pro-Choice America and the Human Rights Campaign.
