Author and social critic Tom Wolfe, best known for The Right Stuff, a nonfiction book about aviation pioneer Chuck Yeager and the Mercury astronauts, died yesterday. Wolfe’s other works include The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, the novel Bonfire of the Vanities, a couple of lesser-known novels, books about art and architecture, and essays and social commentaries.
