Okay fellow Catholics: I am accustomed to receiving the Eucharist in both body (wafer) and blood (wine.) For a few months they have been running out of wine before the choir gets to communion. (We sing first.) Which is more respectful: (1) to receive communion and sing the last part of the mass with the body of Christ stuck to the roof of my mouth, or (2) to forgo communion? When I remember, I try to throw a small water bottle into my music bag but I’m not copacetic with that solution as it requires advance planning.
