Sniper kills 59, wounds 527, at Las Vegas country music festival
A wealthy retired accountant, who owned rental property and two private planes, barricaded himself in a hotel room overlooking an outdoor country music concert in Las Vegas and opened fire at a crowd of 22,000 concertgoers Sunday night. At least 59 people were killed and more than 500 hospitalized. It is the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. The shooter is dead. Authorities ruled out terrorism, but said he had a history of psychological problems, and his father was on the FBI’s Most Wanted list in the 1970s. President Trump tweeted his “warmest condolences” to the victims. This is a developing story.
