Why do MY tax dollars support Sawant’s Socialist Alternative Party?

A friend in Seattle tells me that this was sent on Seattle money, using City Council Staff, by Kshama Sawant.  Whatever the value of her opinions, I do not understand how this is relevant to Sawant’s job as the Council member from my neighborhood in Seattle.

Sawant is obviously using city money to campaign for her Solicialist Alternative party.  Imagine if she were a Trumpie or even a Democrat doing this!
