Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, a rising progressive star who faces re-election in 2017, is being sued by a 46-year-old Kent man who claims Murray sexually abused him in exchange for small payments of money over a period of several years beginning in 1986, when the man was a crack-addicted 15-year-old dropout, according to the Seattle Times. Murray “vehemently” denied the accusations.
The man said he is coming forward now as part of his healing process, and also because his father died recently, so he doesn’t have to hide what happened from his parent anymore, the newspaper reported. Murray’s spokesman called the accusations “false” and suggested they’re politically motivated.
The Seattle Times became aware in 2008 of similar allegations made by two other men a decade ago, relating to the same 1980s time period, but chose not to publish them at the time. The newspaper did not directly explain that decision, but said the earlier accusations were “promoted by extreme right-wing antigay activists in the midst of the marriage equality campaign, and were thoroughly investigated and dismissed by both law enforcement authorities and the media.”
But in today’s story, the newspaper said those prior accusations give “additional weight and relevance” to the new allegations, and also noted that the lawsuit “gives details about Murray’s 1980s Capitol Hill apartment” and “accurately recalls Murray’s phone number from the time,” and other personal details.
The Seattle Times article goes on to provide details about how Murray met the youths and their alleged interactions at the time of the alleged abusive encounters. Read the story here.

Well Ed Murray is toast. Just read the Seattle Times article. In Seattle’s politics of personal destruction, the allegations, all very similar in nature, with testimony from multiple victims all lining up… I expect we won’t hear much from Ed, after he decides to drop out of the race and move outta Seattle.
The allegations don’t have to be true in Seattle. It won’t matter.

Gentry Lange Also if this were a Republican, people at large would already be calling for him to step down. The multiple accusers is huge to the left.
Bill Cosby, Trump, The Guy in the bathroom stall, Clarence Thomas…. various degrees, all accepted by the left….See More

Gentry Lange 1. 46 year old Kent man filed suit Thursday 4-6
2. Two men, Jeff Simpson and
3. Lloyd Anderson, said they knew Murray when they were growing up in a Portland center for troubled children, and later as teenagers. They accuse Murray of abusing them in the 1980s when he was in his 20s. Simpson made the claim as a teen in 1984, and talked with a social worker and detective at the time. No charges were filed.
Sorry three accusers. Two from that era.
