Next Monday, April 10th, DL-Fremont’s feature guest is Andrew Villeneuve, Washington State’s most effective progressive public policy advocate.
14 years ago, before he was old enough to shave, Andrew founded the Northwest Progressive Institute, with the goal of improving the lives of northwest citizens through better, well researched, progressive legislation and initiatives, and to stop destructive measures like virtually everything proffered by Tim Eyman. NPI’s efforts have been responsible for the passage of good legislation and initiatives, and the defeat of bad ones.
Andrew is a great example of why Drinking Liberally is important for bringing different people together, Most of us are lazy. Okay maybe not lazy, but too busy with day-to-day life to find much time to get very involved politically. One step is to meet others who share your interests. Beyond that the most efficient things any of us can do are to LEARN THE ISSUES, MEET OTHERS AND ORGANIZE.
DONATING to NPI and attending their events is also a good idea! Andrew has been bootstrapping NPI for 14 years and nobody accomplishes more with less. If there is anything you want to know about Washington State politics, legislation, initiatives, taxation, party apparatus, etc…
Drinking Liberally, a non-partisan organization, provides a safe place for liberal/progressive leaning public policy and politics junkies and activists to gather and talk politics in a manner not generally available or appropriate at the office or family gatherings.
Think of DL Fremont as group therapy for the Trump presidency.
Hotel Hotel Pizza Bar, soon to be renamed the Fremont Tavern, features gourmet brick oven pizza, a full bar, and 14 taps showcasing local craft beers.
