Since Dolly Madison, every first lady has had the unique opportunity to redecorate the oval office in her own style.
(TA News, Washington DC) Today, America’s new First Couple proudly welcomed the ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the newly redecorated room. Mrs. Trump chose to continue her own Louise XIV style, bringing gilt highlights to the office, something her predecessor, Nancy Reagan had proposed but, at the tile, President Reagab opted for his own more western ranch decor.
For their part the Saudis donated replicas of the doors to the throne room in the palace at Mecca. “this is a unique gift to America, from our King’s own throne room” said Ambassador Ilewaad. While no non Muslim has ever been permitted to visit Mecca, the warm menaing of this gift was obviously appreciated not only by Mr. and Mrs Trump but by First Daughter Ivanka whose picture graces a table in the new office.
Following the visit, the ambassador and his wives were treated to an intimate dinner in the private dining room. The meal was possible because the first daughter is an orthodox Jew. The chef was Moise Amgani, a Yemenite Jew who has joined the White House staff to prepare kosher meals when Ivanka and her family dine in the new White House. The meal was compatible with both the laws of Jewish kashrut and Muslim halal.
