Deny it all you want, Apple, but the Mac and iPad need to fuse Apple made a sumbass error. Years ago, back in the Jobs days. the Apple imgineers decided that they were going to build their tablet around a limited, primitive oS .. iOS. No file system meant the iPAD would never compete with the Mac … or the PC. Meanwhile Microsoft took a harder tack .. building an OS that could work on anything.
