According to CBS News, President Trump has put Jerry Falwell in charge of “higher education reform.” Falwell says he’s going to get the federal government “off the backs of higher education.”
Falwell told The Associated Press he spoke with Steve Bannon, President Donald Trump’s senior strategist, on Tuesday about the role. He says the details of the task force are still being sorted out, but the aim will be “to get the government off the backs of higher education.”
Len Stevens, the university’s chief spokesman, told NBC News that Falwell would bring a focus on “overregulation and micromanagement of higher education” to the task force.
Falwell wasn’t immediately available for comment Tuesday evening. This probably means federal dollars currently going to academic research will henceforth be spent on bombs and bullets, no more Title IX, religion classes will be mandatory, and all those liberal professors can go hang.
