New Chapter of Drinking Liberally
Group therapy for the Trump presidency.
Here is some good news ahead of the Trump inauguration: Beginning Monday, January 16th, there will be a new Drinking Liberally chapter meeting weekly at 7:00 pm at Hotel Hotel Pizza Bar (soon to be Fremont Tavern), 3517 Fremont Ave. N., Seattle.
Drinking Liberally, a non-partisan organization, provides a safe place for liberal/progressive leaning public policy and politics junkies and activists to gather and talk politics in a manner not generally available or appropriate at the office or family gatherings.
Think of it as group therapy for the Trump presidency.
Hotel Hotel Pizza Bar features gourmet brick oven pizza, a full bar, and 14 taps showcasing local craft beers. (Patrons under the age of 21 are allowed until 9:00pm.)
What is Drinking Liberally?
An informal, inclusive progressive social group. Raise your spirits
while you raise your glass, and share ideas while you share a pitcher.
Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place
to talk politics. You don’t need to be a policy expert and this isn’t a
book club – just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent
frustration and hang out in an environment where it’s not taboo to talk
politics.
Bars are democratic spaces – you talk to strangers, you share booths,
you feel the bond of common ground. Bring democratic discourse to your
local democratic space – build democracy one drink at a time.
While drinking liberally, always remember to drink responsibly, and make
liberal use of designated drivers. Drinking and driving is reckless and
irresponsible, like a neocon war or corporatist tax cut. Liberals, don’t
do it.
