At today’s press conference, President elect Trump responded to reports that Russian spies have compromising personal and financial information about his sex life. Instead of denying that the information exists, The Donald attacked the media for leaking intelligence data. He accused CNN of acting like Nazis and refused to take questions from the CNN reporter at the news conference. He claimed he was too careful to ever get caught doing bad things because there are tiny cameras and germs everywhere.
There are Two Stories Today. One is that Trump has been faking his sex life to promote his brand.
Yesterday, CNN reported that FBI Director James Comey, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan and Adm. Mike Rogers, director of the National Security Agency, have presented information summarizing the claims to Obama and Trump. By publishing the story ? with no less than Watergate investigator Carl Bernstein’s byline on it ? CNN sent a signal to other media outlets to take this subject seriously.
Our Mr. T. has spent decades presenting an image of himself as the ultimate puerile playboy. Before his move to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, the Donald built a brand image of himself as Hugh Hefner living high above Manhattan in a golden tower.
This public career as a sex star began with our Mr. T palling around with such sexual celebrities a Roy Cohn, the famed source for the Broadway hit “Angels in America.” “Angels” is based on Cohn’s bizarre life as a gay, far right, McCarthyite Jew who ends up dying of AIDS. Cohn was also Mr. Trump’s lawyer in those days.
Later the Trump circle included a meageries of sex stars and one very famous pimp who set up parties for rich folks in expensive hotels in London. All of this became fodder for Trump PR, as a regular guest of Howard Stern, Howard and Donald joked about cheating on wives, trading them in for newer and better models. He even suggested that he enjoyed watching porn, where he could watch girls getting creampied and such, as the enthusiastic women thrilled him.
Interestingly, none of Donald’s former wives, including the mother of the three adult children he now proudly parades as the new heads of the Trump Organization, ever appeared during the presidential campaign. Apparently Ivana Trump (1977-1992) and her replacement Marla Maples (1993-1999) are no longer presentable assets. I doubt either of these former wives will be invited to the inaugural.
