MOSCOW, Nov 10 The Russian parliament erupted in applause on Wednesday when it heard that Trump had been elected and Putin told foreign ambassadors he was ready to fully restore ties with Washington. “These working moments and follow-up on this or that matter will depend on the situation and the questions which face us. But we will of course continue this work after the elections.” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told the Interfax news agency on Thursday.
The horror over Trump is that he is part of movementd we have seen before. The movement, called fascism under Mussolini and populism uder Hugo Chavez, is misunderstood because of Hitler’s version that conflated racism with state corporatism and nationalism. Mussolini’s fascism, the original entity, is a toxic mix of nationalism, unification of state and corporate power, and populism led by a demagogue.
That fascism, whether called communism, state corporatism, or any other name movement is growing across the world .. from China to Russia, the Philippines, Hungary, France, Cuba, Venezuela and now here.
