Chinazor Onianwah Stephen Schwartz, you know you’re pretty much protected. You don’t have to worry about Trump. You are a white male in America. Your privilege is intact. And even if he lost his mind and mess with you, you still have that Jewish thingy going for you. I should have taken you up on that offer to become Jewish.
Andrew Fuller 51,420 people in Michigan voted for Jill Stein. Guess how many votes Hillary lost the state by? 14,611.
Thanks, morons.
Paul Schneiderman Trump lost the popular note, he has no personal mandate.
Guy Lev Raz All you she’ll-shocked liberals should remember what your Dear Leader said to Republicans after he won.
Daniel Broggel Americans don’t really know who or what they’re angry with. Everything? The dangerous thing is, they ARE angry! I think the loss of the country’s white identity is a big reason. Another is the loss of economic self determination, by the manipulation and greed of the financial powers in this country.
Brett Davis Bill Clinton is just now realizing there will be no White House interns for him.
Nate Gerards As the father of a Jewish family, I’m frightened to death. This is someone who played coy (“I know nothing”) towards the KKK, David Duke, and White Supremacists.
I know that I share this fear with close friends, family, neighbors, Luca’s school friends: latinos, hispanics, POC, Muslims, people of all faith and non-faith. We share your dread.
I will never give up – and neither should any of you. Over half of the US are behind us
Read 1930s Germany for the real answer. We’re one Reichstag fire away. But feel smug in your decision, and post chapter/verses that your devout hedonist candidate will never read. This decision on his followers: you & yours.
Go read the Fruits of the Spirit thinking of him, and try not vomit in your mouth 9 times. Do this daily in repentance
Joshua R Newman It’s difficult to overstate what a massive historical monkey wrench Trump’s victory is. I’m shocked and terrified that he is on the verge of winning. Hillary wasn’t my first choice, but given the chance, I’m confident she would have a done an amazing job. But it doesn’t look like she will get that chance, and instead, we have some very terrible truths to face.
– The US has never elected someone who had already been either a General, Governor, Senator, Vice President, or President.
– A thin-skinned man-child and bully, with poor negotiating skills leading our foreign affairs
– China will become ascendant; the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and the other mid-tier allies will pivot towards China.
– Japan and South Korea will hedge their bets given US instability
– Russia will push further into Europe; Central Europe will hedge their bets
– The Middle East goes further downhill; Iran nuclear deal… well, if we back track on it, they will plow ahead towards a nuclear weapon
– Our federal police force, the FBI, has become politized; the agencies director intervened directly in a federal election, showing himself to be politically pliable. Watch for Trump to leverage that
– The racism that so blatantly animated the opposition to President Obama continues to infect America’s mind for our own undoing
– ISIL & Al Qaeda is about to achieve a huge victory; we invaded Iraq in 2003, we might do it again. We wasted our money over there instead of investing it here, and people blame Obama for that.
– The Baby Boomer generation is still fighting the 1960’s over and over and over again.
– Hillary, hard and awesome leader that she is behind the scenes, was always a very risky nomination
Trump’s election, combined with Brexit and the coming advance of China, spells the end to the post-WWII stability, pax-Americana. Heartbreakingly & ironically, the racist, jingoistic wish to Make America Great Again will actually lead to a major degradation in our international standing and our national security.
Pete Livengood I probably shouldn’t post this, because I m slightly inebriated (a coping mechanism) but I am completely flummoxed by this result. Do people REALLY think Trump has answers? Based upon what? We are headed for a shit show the likes of which we have never seen (mark my words!). That said, I want to give respect to those people who disagree with me. I believe in democracy, even when it scares me, and I choose to be optimistic about how our system of government will prevent the worst excesses I expect from a Trump presidency. We all need to do better. If you don’t feel that way, you soon will. This man is a train wreck.
Zvi Zaks Hitler wrote a manifesto, Mien Kampf, in which he explicitly blames the world’s problems on Jews and Communists, and calls for the mass murder of those people who poison the country.
Trump also wrote a manifesto, The Art of the Deal, which apparently recommends screwing people you do business with.
Not good. My first (obviously not only) concern is for the people who recently got medical coverage with Obamacare. But it isn’t Hitler either. Perspective can really help at a time like this.
Kevin Nguyen Minh-Sang I’m pissed off by the fact a few people can dare act superior and better than others when they act as if by sitting on the sidelines that somehow it makes them not the ones also responsible the house, senate, and POTUS are all fucking red.
We learn at age 2 or 1 that we only sometimes have a single choice. Apparently a few people haven’t learned this but:
You are not special. You can’t complain about jack shit if you on purpose did nothing to prevent the greater evil from going to power. I would still have voted if I already planned on trying on moving to another country anyway regardless of whether not Bernie Sanders won.
This means I voted specifically because I care about the people who I leave behind. People who still planned on living here and actually pretend like it was not important because as long as they stuck to their childish ideals made this fate worth it are the real guilty party. No one can expect the poor, stupid republicans can know any better.
But you did know better.
