BERLIN — Max Mannheimer, who survived Theresienstadt, Auschwitz and Dachau and devoted his last decades to admonishing later generations of Germans that while they carried no guilt for the Nazis’ crimes, they bore a responsibility to ensure that they never happen again, died on Sept. 23 in Munich. He was 96.
