Cost money to make money

A homeless man finally gets a job after months of searching. He was accused of not wanting to work, and even worse he was more or less exiled from his family due to his lack of employment. This is despite the fact that he has been looking for some time. More than willing to work, the homeless man actually received his degree from one of the most prestigious schools in the country, but still unable to find work. the-pursuit-of-happyness-original
Over a period of time, the little money the man did have fades, and the he finds himself struggling to feed his family, which consists of three kids, who live the majority of time with their mothers. Pretty soon, he is not even able to see his kids as much as he would want to due to a lack of funds.  He really won’t be able to see them, now that he will be working a countless number of hours.
His own childhood shaped him into the father that he wanted to be, but he realizes that his own kids will experience a lot of what he did, no matter how much he tries, and sad to say no matter how hard he works. Frustrated, because school was supposed to be the answer, but he cant even get a call back from a job that would reflect his degree.  The man finds himself full of emotions and urges.
Bottling all that in, the homeless man is hell bent on getting out of his situation. He realized that he would need more schooling in order to actually start digging himself out of poverty and at the same time take care of his kids and other responsibilities.
He figured that he would work anywhere, and from there he could begin to rise from the Abyss that is poverty. Now the man works in the kitchen, and he makes 13.25 an hour.
He thinks that he is going to be good after a few months, and most people not in that situation would also think that he is good to go. This is without asking some very critical questions, that actually deter people from trying to find work in this first place.
Now, what does he wear? Yes, he had a nice shirt for the interview, but he now needs a wardrobe in order to do his job. What does his new job do for him in that situation?
How is he going to get to work? He has free bus passes he receives, but his route was cut, and now his job requires him to ride the light rail. That’s 10 dollars a day, or around 90 bucks a month. How does he save to get a car or ride the bus when he just got the job? What does a new job do for him?
How does he save money making 2000 before taxes with kids, who live with their mothers, who get the majority of his check? What if his employer calls him? He doesn’t have a phone with minutes anymore, as his free phone from DSHS, that he uses to talk to his children is out of minutes.
Getting a job don’t mean shit, if you don’t have the means to keep it. Stop acting like a niggas life is going to magically change. Those that make it happen, I applaud, but they are the exception rather than the rule.
