Chinazor: AMERICA: GOD’S OWN COUNTRY
Growing up in my hometown, Ibusa, Nigeria, there is a refrain you hear over and over as a kid – “My father’s farm is bigger than yours,” which is always met with, “If you haven’t been to another farm, you think your father’s farm is bigger.” In high school geography, it didn’t take long for me to find out the USA was the greatest country in the world. We coined a moniker for America, “God’s own country.” Now we need to set aside our tears from the vestiges of slavery, racism, bigotry and police brutality; lest it blinds our vision, I concur with Michelle Obama, in spite of all its shortcoming, America is still the greatest country on earth. If God decides to live among humans, She would take up residence in America.
