My friend Julius Maslovat was, at 2 and 1/2, the youngest child in Buchenwald. He arrived from Piotrkow on December 2, 1944 and, after a month was separated from his father and sent in early January 1945, on a train with 11 other Piotrkower, plus 10 Hungarian Jewish boys, to Bergen Belsen. There, he was placed in a kinderheim presided over by Jewish prisoner functionaries, including the Angel of Belsen, Luba Trysznska, and survived until the British liberated Belsen. Today he lives in Victoria, Canada, and it was my pleasure to see him earlier this year. He is writing his memoir, and speaks before school audiences….
