Astronomers Discover Ninth Planet: President Romney Proposes Mission

Vulcan Spock

President Romney: “I am asking Congress to appropriate $5,000,000,000 to fund a mission to Planet 9. We will name that mission, “Spock” after the actor Leonard Nimoy from Star Treck.

Two Caltech astronomers, Mike Brown and Konstantin Batygin, were studying the strange orbits of some ice bound objects, oversized hailstones that are part of the  dim and dusty

James Imhofe, Director of NASA

Kuiper Belt of trash that includes Pluto.  Pluto, the orb that tuned out to be to small to deserve the lofty title  of planet, and other Kuiper Belt objects appear to be  being attracted by by an unseen world orbiting farther from the Sun.

So Mike Brown and Konstantin Batygin reckon that the Kuiper Belt objects are being pushed around by gravitational interactions with a planet roughly twice the diameter of Earth.

President Romney, accompanied by his head of NASA, Jame Imofe, and by Professors Brown and Batygin, made a careful announcement of the discovery.

“We need to show caution in changing  the number of planets around the Sun.  No one has yet seen this putative planet with a telescope. Even if it’s out there, it might take years before someone gets a photo that would clinch the deal. After all, sunlight falling on this giant-sized world would be 300 thousand times weaker than on Earth. In addition, the exact position of this hefty planet is unknown.

However, we also need to be prepared.  After all, many religions, planets are seen as Gods.  In Christianity, the vision of the  apocalypse has led some to  say that there is a malevolent planet named Nibiru with an orbit that will some day sail by Earth, causing tsunamis, earthquakes, and scenes of destruction.  I am therefore asking that NASA hold off naming the new planet until it is seen by a telescope or we actually send a space craft to its vicinity.”

Asked about naming Planet 9 after the home planet of Lt. Spock, the President said that nameing a new planet will have ot wait until an actual image confmr the astonomer’s prediction.  Then he went on, ” I am asking Congress to appropriate $5,000,000,000 to fund a mission to Planet 9.  We will name that mission, “Spock” after the actor Leonard Nimoy from Star Treck.”

I believe that the Mormons believe that God has his own planet. Perhaps he believes this is it.
