OK, so on Wednesday, on a bridge a couple miles from my house, a car full of punks rear-ended another guy’s car. The punks then took off, and when the other guy caught up with them at the other end of the bridge (he says he wanted to get their license) the punks got out of their car and beat the guy up, after threatening him with a shotgun and nearly tossing him off the bridge. The story was posted on a local neighborhood blog, and naturally most readers were critical of the punks. But then someone came on the blog and did this classic Seattle thing of turning the perpetrator into a victim. (You could call this the flip-side of victim blaming. Perp coddling.)

This is so bad, at first I took it for trolling. But no, this person is the real deal, I’m afraid. Pure Seattle.
