Scalia .. after the wake, who was the man?

Deum Diligite Animalia Diligentes

Hunting Trip Was a Gift From a “Friend” Who Had Business Before the Supreme Court Last Year

This was nothing new for the scion of the radical right.  Scalia took more prepaid trips than any other justice on the Supreme Court, justifying these by a need to “demystify” SCOTUS.  After mall, the citizen ght wonder abut 9 men 6 men folks dressed up in robes!

I1But this last trip was … well .. also about mystery robes.  Scalia’s last  hunt was at he  home of  a secret society of  macho male crusader wannabees wearing green robes with a Templar cross.

The International Order of Saint Hubertus was founded in 1695 by Count Franz Anton von Sporck in what was then the Kingdom of Bohemia, then territory of the Habsburg Empire, now the modern Czech Republic.  It’s website  describesCapture the organization as “a true knightly order in the historical tradition.” It launched its first U.S. chapter in 1966. Members of the society wear dark green robes decorated with large crosses surrounded by the words “Deum Diligite Animalia Discalialigentes,” which means “Honoring God by honoring His creatures.”

The  U.S. chapter’s site, describes the ritual for election: “The process is culminated in an annual Investiture Ceremony which is the primary social event of the year.  It’s not known if Scalia was a member of the society or was coming to be inducted. John Poindexter, the owner of Cibolo Creek Ranch, the Texas resort where Scalia was found dead, and C. Allen Lawyer, a Washington lawyer who Scalia traveled with to the ranch on a private plane, are members.  Two other private planes at the ranch that weekend were also linked to men from the society’s Texas order.

Poindexter said, “There is nothing I can add to your observation that among my many guests at Cibolo Creek Ranch over the years some members of the International Order of St. Hubertus have been numbered,”  “I am aware of no connection between that organization and Justice Scalia.”
