Betty Buckley FACEBOOK As a Democrat born and raised in eastern WA, let me offer this bit of insight: people in rural areas are tired of being controlled by urbanites who have little understanding of what it means to live in the country. Now, I’d be the first person to say that lack of understanding goes both ways, but for the purpose of this conversation, and this election, let me just point out that what we saw on Tuesday was an anti-urban, anti-liberal backlash. Most if not all of the rural parts of this state use to be run by Democrats and we sent Democrats to Olympia. Now we’re barely hanging on to one of the last rural districts on the west side of the state. People are tired of too many regulations, too much political correctness, too much disdain about our lifestyle. I voted Hillary and am extremely worried about what happens next, but I hope that we learn from the spanking we just got from rural America.
