In light of recent events, recognizing potential terrorists before they pull out AR-15s and begin shooting has become an essential urban survival skill. Unfortunately, most Americans lack training in spotting terrorists in time to escape. So what we have today is a simple primer. As every good Republican knows, profiling is a valid way of identifying criminals before they commit criminal acts. Terrorists usually are identifiable by obvious markers: They’re grownups, they’re armed, they display symbols of alienation from the established order, and they’re often angry. In the illustration below, for example, the potential terrorist is the subject clutching the teddy bear. At least that’s what Donald Trump and a whole bunch of GOP governors want you to believe.
