UW fires legendary rowing coach

Bob Ernst’s 42-year run as a rowing coach at the University of Washington is over. A mutiny by the women’s varsity team over his abrasive coaching style cost him his job. During his career, his U.W. teams won 8 titles (6 women’s, 2 men’s), plus he coached a gold medal-winning U.S. women’s Olympic rowing team.
