“Footage from a police body camera appears to show that the father of a 6-year-old autistic boy had his hands in the air before city marshals opened fire, severely wounding the motorist and killing the boy, CBS News has learned from a law enforcement source.”
One angle investigators are looking into is whether the cops opened fire on the father to settle a personal grudge, hoping that hiding behind their badges would enable them to literally get away with murder. The cops have been arrested, charged with murder, and are in jail in lieu of $1 million bail. The state attorney general’s office has taken over the case, because one of the local D.A.’s top deputy prosecutors is the father of one of the arrested cops.
The shooting was captured on video by another cop responding to a call for backup. The police chief described the video as the “most disturbing thing” he’s ever seen. (Read story here
