The Stand With Us movement began as an admirable effort to oppose campus groups who target Israel under a less than thinly cloaked guise of antisemitism.
Now, however, SWU has lost its way. Whoever write this piece is not promoting peace, she or he is attacking the media in Fox News style. What the author(s) want is for the NYT and other “mainstream media” to use the horrific acts of the Palestinians to justify whatever Israel might do in its defense.
Does anyone not know where this leads? Israelis are now arming themselves with the same sort of personal defense .. gunnery .. that the Amurican right wing here fantasizes about .. a giun in every home. Soon this will escalate into some horrific retaliation by Israelis, likely settlers or perhaps Jewish citizens living near a militant Israeli Arab citizen ghetto. The result will not help the cause of peace.
