A gun aficionado using “Tweety Bird” as her online persona lambasted “lame” state gun laws in her postings, e.g., treating a full magazine the same as a loaded gun:
“I keep all my mags full. I keep two full mags in my Glock case. And the ARs & AKs all have loaded mags. No one will be ‘dropping’ by my house uninvited without (acknowledgment).”
She also claimed to be an LPN, and gave health advice, in particular holding herself out as some sort of expert on autism based on personal experiences:
“I have Asperger’s and I didn’t do so bad. Wasn’t easy (understatement) but it can be done. I also have an Asperger’s kid … my son has Asperger’s. He’s no babbling idiot nor is his life worthless. He’s very intelligent and is working on a career in filmmaking. My 18 years worth of experience with and knowledge about Asperger’s syndrome is paying off.”
Not any more. Her kid is dead, and took 9 innocent people with him. “Tweety Bird” has been identified as Laurel Harper, the mother of Oregon mass shooter Christopher Harper-Mercer. Like Nancy Lanza, she was divorced, had a houseful of guns, and lived alone with a son suffering from Asperger’s Syndrome who went on a murderous shooting rampage.
What should society do with such parents? What is their responsibility? Nancy Lanza was killed by her son. Laurel Harper is keeping a low profile. She has much to reflect about.
