The three properties of the Christian God are contradictory unless one  imagines humans can not tell good from evil:

OMNIPOTENT … can do anything

OMNISCIENT … knows all

OMNIBENIFICENT … always does good

Of course these make sense as long as we, humans, can not determine God’s good deeds from the bad deeds He might have done.  For example crucifying your own son seems pretty horrid.

Obviously humans can not base our behavior on this divine model …. unless we want to accept the holocaust, slavery, ISIS, as the agents of good.

So, one answer is to appoint arbiters of good to tell us what this good God wants … e.g. the Pope. ISIS’  Caliph, the Evangelical super pastors, or the Mormon Church apostles.

For an Orthodox Jew the problem is solved because God give the Jews 613 very detailed rules to follow.

Of course, there is another possibility, maybe God is bad?
Nahum 1:2-6
The Lord is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and rage. He takes revenge on all who oppose him and continues to rage against his enemies!

The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.

At his command the oceans dry up, and the rivers disappear. The lush pastures of Bashan and Carmel fade, and the green forests of Lebanon wither.

In his presence the mountains quake, and the hills melt away; the earth trembles, and its people are destroyed.

Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury? His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence.
