POLITICO REPORTS: MR. ROMNEY IS DISAPPOINTED IN THE CANDIDATES VYING TO SUCCEED HIM.

After deciding to retire so he could be eligible to become an Apostle of his Church, the debates seem have created a change of heart in Mr. Romney.  Reportedly, the President  has told close confidants, including Vice President Ryan and Ann Romney, that he is  less than upbeat about most of the potential candidates in the 2016 Republican field,.  These sources  asked for anonymity in order to speak freely but Spokesman Tagg Romney has admitted that the Romney family and Mrs. Romney have been urging Mitt t reconsider. .

Vice President Ryan has been an important part of any change of heart.  Mr. Romney decision not to run again came after  Mr. Ryan had announced that he was planning to take over the management of the Vatican Bank.  This loss freed Mr. Romney because he had felt an obligation to mentor the young mad as a successor.    Now Paul Ryan has become an even closer confidant  of the Prssident and apparently has told Mr Romney that the Vatican Jb can wait.    Mr. Ryan, freed of any political ambition,  has assessed various people’s strengths and weaknesses dispassionately, wearing what one ally called his “Jesuit collar”. He has said, among other things, that Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, would run into problems because of his business dealings, his work with the investment banks Lehman Brothers and Barclays, and his private equity investments.

“You saw what they did to Mr. Romney because of his role with Bain [Capital],” referring to the devastating attacks that former President Barack Obama’s team launched. “What do you think they’ll do to [Bush] over Barclays?”

Spencer Zwick, finance chairman of Romney’s 2012 campaign chairman and now a senior executive at Solamere Capital, declined to comment on any discussions Romney may have had with investors but told POLITICO that “ he has made  a great president.  Mr.  Romney’s foreign plicy was  vindicated by  Russia’s withdrawal form  Ukraine after we threatened to recall Ambassador Palin.” “The burgeoning romance between these two hinters .. Vladimir the bear and Sarah the she wolf . must be one of the greatest successes in diplomacy of all times, sdaud Henry Kissiinger.

After the debate  a “growing chorus” of people have spoken to Mr, Romney or Mr. Rayb, saying they would like to see the pair do it again. “There’s a core group of people around Mitt who think Mitt should stay on for another 4 years before taking a leadership role in the Mormon Church.  The role of an Apostle will always be open to him. ” \

As for Romney, he “tells people not to commit to a candidate that is not their first choice and that they aren’t excited about,” said the second executive, who was involved in the meetings. “He does not think much of the current field and does not think it is jelling. He still views himself as the leader of the establishment wing of the Republican Party. He does not feel he owes the Bushes anything and does not think Jeb is the de facto leader of the establishment GOP.”
