Apple (AAPL) Apple stock is down nearly 11% from the record high reached February 23rd of $133. Investors are fretting over evidence that competition is heating up for smartphones in China, while similar problems at Samsung suggest that smart phones have become a commodity product. This puts pressue on Apple that relies on premium ricing for its goods. At $600 per phone — as competition is only intensifying and more computing is done by the cloud, there is an obvious opening for compnaies willing to use the Android system or perhaps the yet to be unveiled Windows 10 for cell phones that is expected to offer desktop and tablet integration not possible in the i world.
Analysts at Bespoke said “By itself, that (stock’s history of bouncing back after falling below the 200-day moving average) is probably not the best reason to go out and buy the stock.”
