Where is The Seattle City Council?
Last year the City Council voted to rename “Columbus Day” after that well known American tribe the “Indyje-nus”as in Indigenous Peoples Day.”
Other than an unneeded, politically correct insult to Italian Americans, this mouthful of gibberish says nothing about the people who lived here when the Euros invaded. Talk is cheap.
The Duwamish are a small tribe that claims descent from Chief Seattle. Among their leaders is one of his descendants. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has refused ot grant the Duwamish tribal recognition … kinda sorta like Israel saying the Palestinians are not a poeple.
