University of Illinois censured for pulling Steven Salaita job over anti-Israel tweets
While I find Salaita’s pro Hamas rhetoric offensive, Wise’s actions appear to be based only on her responses to wealthy contributors. Neither she nor the University has offered any other explanation for their decision.
Perhaps that will come out in court but why should Salaita have to sue to get Wise held to accounts? If she really fired Salait because of complaints from Salaita, then she should be forced to say so and be fired.
