Confederate Memorial Day
In commemoration of the death of Confederate General Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson in 1863 and the capture of Confederate President Jefferson Davis in 1865, the South Carolina Legislature will be closed today and all state offices are closed. Battle reenactments will be staged to note the death of Gen. Stonewall Jackson, who died in 1863.
