Capitol police have sent a letter to congressional leaders asking them to “to rein in the growing number of parties in the Capitol,” citing security concerns and complaining about “mounting overtime costs and an abundance of ‘coolers containing liquids’,” 
CNN reports. “Authorities are concerned the parties, hosted by lawmakers, … have grown out of control and [are] potentially dangerous …. During July Fourth celebrations last year the U.S. Capitol [building] was overrun with heavy drinking party-goers and … filled with drunken revelers ….” Can someone refresh my memory about which political party is in charge of Congress? I forgot.
