A desperate Benjamin Netanyahu, who’s likely to lose tomorrow’s election in Israel, tried to rally his political base today by promising there’ll never be a Palestinian state and construction of Israeli settlements in the West Bank will accelerate if he’s re-elected. Which means war, forever. I’m not endorsing Palestinian terrorism, or anything like that, but put yourselves in their shoes for a minute. Suppose your enemy next door promised to subjugate you forever, expand its occupation of your territory, 
and swore you’ll never have self-government or economic prosperity for yourself, your children, or your grandchildren. I mean, what would you do?
