Kayla, the American woman killed while a hostage of ISIS, was not the naïve volunteer the media have portrayed. If this post, full of hatred for the now dead American girl, is based on fact, she was herself a supporter of Hamas.
Although the post is hateful, it may be correct. Apparently Kayla had been an activist for some time, including studying Arabic and visiting “Israel” to “help in refugee settlements there.” Of course the only “refugee settlements” in Israel are the small number of illegal African immigrants fleeing violence in their own countries. Those are not the cams Ms. Mueller cared about. She was, rather, an American idealist devoted to the Palestinian cause.
Haaretz reports that Ms. Mueller spent the summer of 2010 volunteering for the International Solidarity Movement, the pro-Palestinian activist group made famous by Rachel Corrie. Ms. Corrie was from Washington State and died when an armored Israeli bulldozer demolishing a Palestinian home hit her.
According to the International Solidarity Movement, Ms. Mueller was motivated by the story of Rachel Corrie and “to try and prevent the takeover of (a home in Jerusalem) by Israeli settlers.” She also worked in Hebron, where, according to the organization, she accompanied Palestinian children to school in the neighborhood of Tel Ruimeda, and stayed in a protest tent, together with villagers of Izbat al-Tabib, to try to prevent the demolition of homes in that village. She also joined weekly Friday protests against the Israeli occupation in Bilin and other Palestinian villages, writing frequent blogs about those experiences.
Kayla Mueller left writings abut her work:
“Oppression greets us from all angles. Oppression wails from the soldiers radio and floats through tear gas clouds in the air … But resistance is nestled in the cracks in the wall, resistance flows from the minaret 5 times a day and resistance sits quietly in jail knowing its time will come again. Resistance lives in the grieving mother’s wails and resistance lives in the anger at the lies broadcasted across the globe. Though it is sometimes hard to see and even harder sometimes to harbor, resistance lives. Do not be fooled, resistance lives.”
This only makes the tragedy more horrible.
And the wingers are wasting no time at piling hate upon this latest casualty of Mideast hatreds.
You have nt heard the worst yet. Perking its way thru the FAUX is a talking point that Obama killed her by not raiding ISIS.
