Turkish President Kisses Off Kurds Under Siege By ISIS
Sadly for the Kurds they did not get their own country when the Ottoman Empire was split up after WWI. What ought to be Kurdistan became part of the Soviet Union. Iraq, and Iran.. and of course Turkey.
Now the town of Kobani is about to fall to ISIS, despite stepped up American airstrikes, and the Turkish military just sits there—in main battle tanks—watching.
The Turks still won’t own up to their Armenian genocide, either, even though it happened 100 years ago and none of the perpetrators are still living. Not long ago, our gutless Congress scuttled a nonbinding resolution recognizing the deaths of over 1 million Armenians as a genocide, because the Turks objected to it. We kowtow to Turkey because they give us military bases and it’s a good location from which to launch missiles against Russia. So historical truth takes a back seat to military convenience.
