A South Carolina “traditionally black state school” is unable to pat y its bills.
S.C. State has accumulated a a $13.6 million deficit over eight years as the school borrowed money from a community grant program to pay bills. State budget leaders loaned the school $6 million to pay bills, but that money was consumed by payroll and debt payments.
This is in the same state that subsidizes a state school in Charleston headed by an openly racist President who dresses up as a Confederate general. Of course maybe the time has come to wonder why S.C. State still has a publically financed school that is avowedly based on race? Does this school serve ALL the citizens of South Carolina well enough to justify racism?
